It’s the third time I’ve fallen into the Bayesian rabbit hole. It always goes like this: I find some cool article about it, it feels like magic, whoever is writing about it is probably a little smug about how much cooler than frequentism it is (and I don’t blame them), and yet I still leave confused about what exactly is happening. This post is a cathartic attempt to force myself into making sense out of everything I’ve read so far.

The AI your stack deployed is losing customers.

You shipped it. It works. Tickets are resolving. So why are customers leaving?

Gladly's 2026 Customer Expectations Report uncovered a gap that most CIOs don't see until it's too late: 88% of customers get their issues resolved through AI — but only 22% prefer that company afterward. Resolution without loyalty is just churn on a delay.

The difference isn't the model. It's the architecture. How AI is integrated into the customer journey, what it hands off and when, and whether the system is designed to build relationships or just close tickets.

Download the report to see what consumers actually expect from AI-powered service — and what the data says about the platforms getting it right.

If you're responsible for the infrastructure, you're responsible for the outcome.

Agentic coding tools are redefining how developers write, test, refactor, and deploy software. Unlike traditional code assistants, agentic CLIs can plan tasks, modify multiple files, run commands, debug issues, and iteratively improve solutions with minimal human input — all directly from the terminal.

The format is inspired by this great blog post I read a while ago comparing R and Polars side by side (where “R” here refers to the tidyverse, an opinionated collection of R libraries for data science, and realistically mostly dplyr specifically). I’m adding Pandas because it’s among the most popular libraries for dataset manipulation, and, of course, Clojure, specifically tablecloth, the primary data manipulation library in our ecosystem.

I get a lot of emails from people asking me how they can begin to learn the vast world of databases, and whether they are far enough along on their programming journey to bother trying to start to learn this sub-genre of CS. This post is meant to be my authoritative answer to those questions.…

The goal of this blog post is to provide an intuitive definition of Jacobi fields, a concept from differential geometry, and explain their usefulness for machine learning on curved manifolds. In a nutshell, they are particularly relevant if you are trying to determine a relation between the difference of two vectors and in a tangent space to a manifold (or a power of it), and the geodesic distance between end-points of geodesics with those vectors as initial velocities…

A newly secured $40B loan by SoftBank is raising eyebrows for what it may signal about OpenAI’s future. The financing structure suggests SoftBank could be positioning itself ahead of a possible OpenAI public listing. While no IPO has been confirmed, the scale and timing of the loan point to expectations of a major liquidity event in 2026. Could we get the largest listing in history this year? We’ll find out!

Google released Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, a new voice model geared towards making audio AI more fluid and natural. The model now powers Gemini Live, allowing for 2X longer conversations, faster responses with fewer awkward pauses, and tone adjustment depending on context.

New switching tools let you upload your full chat history as a ZIP file and transfer memories from ChatGPT or Claude directly into Gemini.

Plans for an “adult mode” in ChatGPT have been paused indefinitely after backlash from watchdog groups, internal staff, and an advisory council member who warned it risked becoming a “sexy suicide coach.”
