Anthropic published its annual usage policy update with a bunch of changes, including one that bars users from subjecting its Claude models to “sustained and needless” abuse — its first rule aimed at protecting the AI rather than people. Taking effect Nov. 12, the rule applies only to extreme cases of repeated, purposeless cruelty, not frustration, pushback, dark creative themes, or testing.

Turns out Microsoft's hiring plan now needs a federal lawyer. The Labor Department suspended Microsoft, Adobe, Capgemini, Cognizant, HCL, Infosys, Tata and Wipro from the program that converts H-1B workers into permanent residents, accusing them of fraud. Microsoft counters that 80% of its roughly 6,000 H-1B filings last year were extensions for people already on its payroll. JD Vance's advice: hire great American workers.
Researchers Tomek Korbak, Jasmine Wang, and Mikita Balesni, whom OpenAI fired for mishandling sensitive info, just went public with their side of the story, denying the claims and warning that their firings are “chilling” OpenAI’s safety culture. In an open letter, the trio said they acted within their job mandates, warning that if past conduct is now grounds for firing, staff are left guessing where the line is.
Anthropic has launched Claude Motion and Claude Dashboards so you can make animated explainers and live dashboards by just asking. Claude Motion turns reports, charts, and product walkthroughs into animations you can revise through chat. Claude Dashboards keeps charts current as your data changes and shows the query used to calculate each result.
SpaceX will pay investment firm Grain Management about $8 billion in cash for US cellular spectrum licenses. The licenses will be for the 800-megahertz band, which is tailored for wireless service from cellphone towers rather than satellites. SpaceX says the new spectrum will help cover places satellite links can't reach. SpaceX still needs some terrestrial infrastructure to use the spectrum for mobile coverage.

How to audit spreadsheet formulas for errors with Claude for Google Workspace

Open your Google Sheet and launch Claude for Google Workspace from the sidebar.
Tell Claude what the spreadsheet is for and which tabs or totals matter most.
Ask it to check for broken formulas, hard-coded values, missing formulas, inconsistent ranges, and totals that don’t reconcile.
Sample Prompt: “Audit this spreadsheet for formula errors and inconsistencies. Flag broken references, hard-coded values, missing formulas, inconsistent logic, copied formulas that look wrong, and totals that don’t reconcile. List each issue by sheet and cell, explain why it may be wrong, and suggest the safest fix without changing anything yet.”
Review Claude’s findings. Ask it to separate likely errors from cells that simply need human review.
Approve the confirmed fixes and ask Claude to update only those cells.
Run the audit again to confirm the corrected formulas and key totals now reconcile.
