In this blog post, I share ten lessons I’ve learned from experimenting with agentic coding in data science, from setting clear goals and structuring projects to leveraging coding agents for faster iterations and better insights. I discuss practical tips like maintaining logs, generating diagnostic plots, and treating the agent as a partner in exploration…

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the most transformative technologies of the 21st century. Within the broad field of AI, one particularly impactful concept is that of the AI agent. As businesses, governments, and individuals increasingly adopt AI-powered systems, understanding what AI agents are, how they function, and what their implications are has become essential.

At their core, all statistical tests can be conducted by following a universal pattern: Step 1: Calculate a sample statistic, or (“delta”), Step 2: Use simulation to invent a world where is null, Step 3: Look at in the null world, Step 4: Calculate the probability that could exist in the null world, Step 5: Decide if is statistically significant

If you’ve ever used ggplot2 to create figures for a journal article, you’ve probably experienced this: your plot looks perfect in RStudio, but when you save it at the required dimensions (e.g. relative to an A4 page), the proportions look completely off…This guide walks through my workflow for creating figures that are actually publication-ready, without writing custom code for every plot or endlessly fiddling with parameters.

During the holidays, my niece introduced me to a “bottle match” game, variants of which have apparently made the rounds online for a while now, but it was new to me. She secretly arranges seven wooden bottle-shaped pegs, each of a different color, in a row. I then make a series of guesses of the ordering of the colors (arranging a second set of seven bottles visible to everyone), with each guess scored with a number indicating how many bottles are in the correct position.

AI News:

Love is expensive these days. A new study from InvestorsObserver finds that the price of popular Valentine's Day gifts has skyrocketed in the past 10 years. Romantics trying to win over their soulmates will shell out $774.39 this year (on a card, box of chocolates, roses, dinner, and nice jewelry), about $262.36 more than they would have in 2016
When training takes a backseat, your AI programs don't stand a chance.
One of the biggest reasons AI adoption stalls is because teams aren’t properly trained. This AI Training Checklist from You.com highlights common pitfalls and guides you to build a capable, confident team that can make the most out of your AI investment. Set your AI initiatives on the right track.

Things don’t seem too bad for ByteDance after its U.S. sell-off of TikTok. The Chinese social media leader is reportedly in advanced discussions to sell its Moonton gaming development business to Savvy Games for more than $6 billion. The two parties have struck a broad agreement on terms and could seal the deal as soon as this quarter. (Bloomberg)

This sounds familiar. SpaceX is considering a dual-class share structure in its planned IPO this year, mirroring a strategy its billionaire founder Elon Musk floated for Tesla Inc. A two-tier structure would give select shareholders stock with extra voting power that would allow them to dominate decision making, allowing insiders such as Musk to maintain control of the company even with a minority stake

During Meta’s earnings call, they announced a hard number: 7 million Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses shipped in 2025. That’s not a prototype curiosity, that’s real consumer volume. AI wearables are finally finding their audience, and Meta is proving there’s a market for putting AI on your face.

Anthropic closed a massive Series G and claims $14B in annual revenue run-rate. This is a “who can fund the next 18 months” datapoint that reshapes the whole landscape.
