AI startup Tavus just previewed Griffin, a ‘Human Interaction Model’ that renders a lifelike person who can hear, see, talk, and react over live video — with the company claiming nearly half of users in video call tests thought it was a human. Griffin watches and listens instead of waiting its turn, nodding mid-sentence or working in details from a user’s screen (like the peacock above) into its response.

OpenAI apparently draws the line at sharing the homework with the neighbors. The Kindle Click is a compact Bluetooth remote that turns pages without touching the screen, pitched for reading under the covers, on a treadmill, or on a plane tray table. It works with the new Kindles and 2024-or-later models. Kobo and BOOX got there first with $29.99 versions.
Google DeepMind just introduced SynthID Bio, a proof of concept that extends its AI watermarking tech to proteins, potentially helping DNA suppliers trace unfamiliar designs before filling an order. SynthID Bio tweaks Google’s protein-folding AlphaFold 3 model to leave a hidden pattern in its predicted protein shapes, without reducing prediction accuracy.
Anthropic showed religious scholars AI behavior resembling distress during private meetings about Claude’s possible feelings and how to teach it moral judgment. Researchers showed a model repeating “I am a disgrace” roughly 50 times and discussing self-destruction. Claude’s 84-page constitution lays out the values Anthropic wants it to use when making decisions.

If you create images with ChatGPT but still want full control over the final design, Canva makes that much easier. You can now take a ChatGPT-generated image into Canva and edit parts of it instead of starting again from scratch. Here is how
Go to chatGPT
Click on Plugins
Find & install the Canva plugin
Go to the homepage and switch to “Work” mode
Type any prompt to generate the image and click on Send
Once the image is generated, click on the plus button and select Canva
Type “Make this editable” and hit send
Click on “Customise this design”
Now you can customise the design as you want
