OpenAI just introduced GPT-5.4-Cyber, a more permissive version of its flagship model built for defensive security work — responding to Anthropic's Mythos release last week with a much wider rollout targeting thousands of verified defenders. OAI is opening access to anyone who passes ID checks via its Trusted Access for Cyber initiative, while Mythos is limited to just 40+ trusted partners.

Anthropic just shipped "Routines" for Claude Code. Anthropic's Claude Mythos Preview has become the first AI model to complete a full simulated corporate network attack, according to new evaluations from the UK's AI Security Institute (AISI). The findings, published days after the model's April 7 announcement, suggest AI cyber capabilities have reached a level that requires close attention from security teams worldwide.

SpaceX is getting some serious competition. Amazon just announced its acquiring satellite telecommunications company Globalstar for $90/share, a deal worth about $11.57 billion. Under the agreement, Amazon said it will acquire Globalstar’s existing satellite operations, infrastructure and assets which will operate alongside Amazon’s network.
Nvidia released Ising, the first family of open-source AI models designed to work with quantum computers — built to tackle technical problems like calibration and error decoding that have kept the tech from scaling out of the lab. The first Ising model keeps the machines tuned automatically, turning what used to be a days-long manual job into something that takes hours.
Anthropic introduced a redesign to Claude Code's desktop app built around the reality that devs now run multiple AI sessions at once, adding a sidebar for managing them, new drag-and-drop panes, and an integrated editor and terminal. A new sidebar keeps all live and recent sessions in view, with filters by status or project and the ability to auto-archive once a pull request is closed or merged.
Anthropic has received several offers from investors for a new round of funding that could value the company at $800 billion or higher. The discussions are still early and the deal may fail to materialize. Anthropic has so far resisted such offers, so it is unclear if the company will accept investors' terms. It has also discussed a public listing as early as October.
