In this article, you will learn five essential Python concepts that every AI engineer must master to build scalable, production-grade AI systems. Topics we will cover include: How generators and lazy evaluation allow you to stream large datasets with constant memory overhead. How context managers, asynchronous programming, and Pydantic models help you manage hardware

Many anti-money laundering (AML) engines underperform or generate excessive false positives because of the scale and complexity of modern financial data. These unsatisfactory results are typically not due to flawed detection logic but rather to insufficient supporting infrastructure

This textbook is based on Forecasting: Principles and Practice (3rd ed) and is intended to provide a comprehensive introduction to forecasting methods and to present just enough information about each method for readers to be able to use them sensibly. We don’t attempt to give a thorough discussion of the theoretical details behind each method, although the references at the end of each chapter will hopefully fill in many of those details…

Nowadays I feel more or less comfortable interacting with customers. But I was awful at first. I know because one of the cofounders gave me harsh feedback after a call with our first serious customer. I still remember slamming the lid of my computer when we debriefed. What I perceived as harsh feedback at the time turned out to help me grow quickly…I used to be a regular data scientist assigned to internal projects.

Moonshot AI just dropped Kimi-K2.7-Code, a new open-source coding model that is faster, smarter, and cheaper to run than its predecessor. The big idea: the model was specifically trained to stop "overthinking." When an AI reasons through a problem, it uses tokens, which cost money and add latency. K2.7 cuts that reasoning token usage by 30%, meaning you get better answers while spending less.

Tired of reading headlines about SpaceX? Well, you’re gonna hate this then. SpaceX’s first day as a public company was a big one. The tech company’s stock reached as high as $176/share in midday trading, pushing the company’s market cap to nearly $2.3 trillion, making SpaceX the sixth most valuable public company in the U.S.

But SpaceX isn’t the only one making major moves lately. French AI lab Mistral AI is reportedly in early discussions to raise about €3 billion ($3.5 billion) that would value the company at around €20 billion (about $23.15 billion), nearly double the €11.7 billion valuation it received in a Series C funding round last September.

Ferveret, a startup founded by two MIT nuclear engineering researchers, cools AI servers by submerging them in a low-boiling liquid adapted from reactor physics, using zero water. A UCLA study found 15 percent better efficiency than state-of-the-art liquid cooling, or 35 percent more tokens per watt with its control software. It is testing with operators including Switch, one of the largest US data center operators.

No, it’s not just you. Meta’s social platforms went down today starting around 9:20am ET, but have since recovered. While Meta hasn’t elaborated on the cause of the outage, at its peak Downdetector was showing over 113,000 reports of issues with Facebook and around 10,000 reports of issues with Instagram.

The long-promised AI overhaul arrives this fall across iOS 27, but only iPhone 15 Pro and newer make the cut. Older handsets get left behind, so the upgrade doubles as a hardware sales pitch.
