Apple just released a developer preview of Siri AI in its latest software betas, giving apps of any kind a way to build their own features into the assistant — though developers can only test it for now, and customers are still months away. Siri AI is Apple’s rebuilt assistant, able to see a user’s screen and read messages, and has been a waitlisted beta since iOS 27 shipped in September.

The results are really impressive: 38.3% vs. 33.3%: Hydrogen-1.0 beat GPT-6 Astra on FrontierScience Research. 92.9%: Scored highly on GPQA Diamond, although Astra performed better.

Interpolative software is code that is solidly within the training distribution of models. It can often be specified with just a few sentences of prompting. Novel software is something that has fundamentally not existed before. Writing novel software with agents is challenging, as they are not trained on the task. Not a lot of software is novel, which is fine, as there is still a ton of value in the interpolative stuff.

Google is giving schools more AI control, but rejecting AI-powered Search means losing Google Search access. Gemini, Gemini Notebook, Gemini in Classroom, and Search will be off by default for K-12 student accounts. Administrators can enable each separately, but cannot offer AI-free Google Search. Guided Learning is available globally in Classroom, with a U.S. Search pilot this month.

Orbital Matter is out here 3D printing in the vacuum of space, because apparently Earth was getting boring. Its Replicator-2 satellite, launched on a SpaceX rideshare this summer, printed a half-meter beam from a custom plastic, which executives call a first for a free-flying spacecraft. The pitch: build big solar arrays in orbit for future space data centers.
An EU court adviser says Google’s Gemini could violate copyright by reproducing protected news content in its answers. Bypassing paywalls or other access restrictions to retrieve articles could also violate publishers’ rights. AI training may qualify for the EU’s data-mining exception, subject to lawful access and copyright opt-outs.

How to create a daily brand pulse from X with Grok Bot

Open Grok Bot and create a new Bot dedicated to monitoring your brand on X.
Connect the Bot to X and add your brand name, product names, competitor names, executive names, and any keywords or hashtags you want tracked.
Sample Prompt: “Review X activity from the last 24 hours about [brand], [products], and [competitors]. Identify important mentions, recurring customer reactions, emerging conversations, complaints, praise, competitor activity, and relevant trends. Ignore spam and duplicate posts. Return a concise brief with: What People Are Saying, Emerging Trends, Competitor Moves, Risks, Opportunities, and links to the most important posts.”
Run the Bot once manually and remove noisy keywords, irrelevant accounts, or topics that create false positives.
