Anthropic will get access to more than 300 megawatts of compute capacity and might work with SpaceX to develop multiple gigawatts of compute capacity in space.

Ex-OpenAI CTO Mira Murati testified Wednesday via video deposition in Elon Musk's lawsuit against OpenAI, accusing CEO Sam Altman of lying about a model's safety review, undermining her authority, and pitting execs against one another. Chrome's latest update is auto-downloading Google's on-device LLM without user consent. Researcher Alexander Hanff found Chrome writes a 4GB weights.bin file for Gemini Nano without asking. The model re-downloads itself if deleted, unless the user disables AI flags entirely.
Nvidia, Span and PulteGroup are testing AI data center nodes mounted on residential homes. Nvidia is teaming up with smart-panel startup Span and homebuilder PulteGroup to install fractional data centers on residential homes. Each Span's XFRA unit packs 16 liquid-cooled Blackwell GPUs and runs silently with no fans.
